My Approach to Care

As a physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) non-operative spine specialist, it is gratifying to help those struggling with a spinal condition navigate the often-confusing medical options to find an individualized and appropriate treatment plan. Many times, the goal of the treatment plan includes not only feeling better but staying better, and it is my hope to encourage and support patients on their wellness journey so they may remain physically active and functionally independent for years to come.

Since his childhood, Dr.Yu has always been interested in health and the medical profession but chose the PM&R specialty because of his keen curiosity in the musculoskeletal system and the primary focus on improving quality of life. As a physician, Dr. Yu feels each day provides him with the opportunity to make a meaningful and direct impact on the well-being of his patients’ lives  and to bring them hope and healing.

His mother was a big influence and model in his life, always demonstrating how having a positive outlook on life, kindness to others and persistence leads to personal fulfillment. In his free time, Dr. Yu enjoys volunteering at his child’s school, cooking, reading, exercising, traveling, going outdoors and playing music.
