We believe that women need a complete reproductive exam every one to two years. And although the frequency depends on an individual's risk factors, these exams act as preventive care. Annual pap tests, along with pelvic and breast exams, can increase the length and quality of your life.
Your First Appointment
Your doctor or physician assistant needs to know about your health history to provide the best care for you. These forms will be mailed to you. If you do not get them before your visit, please come to the office 15 minutes early to complete the forms.
Your first visit will include a review of your health history. A physical exam will be scheduled for another time. Please bring a list of any medicine that you are taking. Make sure we have all of your medical records.
If you are an OB patient, you will visit our office every four weeks during the first seven months of your pregnancy. Then you will visit every two weeks. Towards the end of your pregnancy, we will see you weekly. New OB visits take about 20 minutes. Follow-up visits take about 10 minutes.
During adulthood, we believe women need a complete reproductive exam every one or two years. The frequencies of these exams depend on your risk factors. Exams take 15 to 20 minutes. Routine preventive care includes:
- Pap smear
- Pelvic exam
- Breast exam
If you are having either an obstetrical or gynecological problem and feel that you need to be seen before your scheduled appointment, please call our office. Insurance charges and the time required for the visit will vary according to the specific problem(s).
Lab & Radiology
Blood work results are received in three to seven days. Pap test results are returned to our office in two to four weeks after testing. If your results are normal, you will receive a card in the mail. If your tests show abnormal results, you will be called. As a reminder, our office will send you a card when it is time for your annual exam.
Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Questions
Bronson is furthering its efforts to make sure you receive equitable, exceptional healthcare that is tailored to your needs.
At your next appointment, you will have the opportunity to add your sexual orientation and gender identity information to your medical record. At this time, we are requesting this information from patients ages 18 and older only.
This data helps Bronson provide patient-centered care as well as see if there are gaps in care or services across different patient populations, including LGBTQ+ people and their families. This data is part of your medical record, so it’s protected by law and will remain confidential.
Our office is among the first practices at Bronson to begin this work. The effort will be implemented throughout the Bronson system next year. To learn more, visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.
