To identify disparities in cancer prevention and care, Bronson’s oncology project manager and data specialist, LaShawnda Bates, is doing research in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo communities. She will use her findings to inform and implement programs and services to close gaps in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The goal is to provide equitable experiences and outcomes. “It’s a great honor to be able to sit across from and work with our community members to improve health outcomes and help increase access to equitable cancer care," says Bates.
