I would like to extend my never-ending gratitude to Dr. Gregory Wiggins

I would like to extend my never-ending gratitude to Dr. Gregory Wiggins.

In January of 2023, I was referred to him after two MRIs (one without contrast and one with contrast) showed a mass in my spinal column at L2-L3. My PCP (who is also with Bronson), highly recommended Dr. Wiggins and in fact, credited him as being “one of the very best Neurosurgeons.”

Dr. Wiggins was, from the initial consult forward, honest and direct. I wanted to hear that the mass in my spinal column was an easy fix, and that he does dozens of these surgeries a month. Unfortunately, the mass was a rare Schwannoma Tumor at L-2/L-3 and Dr. Wiggins advised me that this surgery is one that no Neurosurgeon does a lot of. Dr. Wiggins read my fear and knew that at that moment, I needed to be cared for and not just educated on the process. He looked me straight in the eye and made me a promise that he and his team would take the very best care of me. He assured me that if he didn’t think he could successfully remove the tumor, he would not be moving forward.

Despite trusting my PCP implicitly, the thought of even meeting with a Neurosurgeon terrified me. However, Dr. Wiggins lived up to his reputation of being one of the very best. To me, he IS the very best. Today I am sans tumor and able to move without constant and excruciating nerve pain. Dr. Wiggins is extremely intelligent, meticulous in his craft and incredibly kind.

I would be remiss if I failed to also mention Bobbi (a member of Dr. Wiggins’ Team). Bobbi is absolutely the most efficient and understanding RN I have ever encountered in my 53 years.

Though I will be eternally thankful to Dr. Wiggins and his staff for their exceptional medical service to me, words cannot truly encapsulate the difference they made in my life, simply by being genuinely compassionate. I think somewhere along the way, too many people in service industries (including healthcare) have lost their energy, their passion and their why. Dr. Wiggins and his team (primarily Nurse Bobbi), are the exception. They absolutely define what it means to live and breathe “Bronson Positivity.”
