I have worked for Bronson for 16 years, and specifically for Home health for 14 years. I started out as an extern on the medical/surgical unit C-5 and worked there for 2 years when I transitioned to Bronson at Home.

I love working for Bronson for many reasons: One being there are so many different aspects of Bronson to work, whether it is in the hospitals, primary care offices, urgent care offices, infusion centers, outpatient therapy programs or labs. We are very prevalent in the community in many ways, which I do find to be a huge asset and benefit when caring for our patients. I take pride in the fact Bronson is growing and always changing to try and find better ways to meet the needs of our patients and the community in which many of us live and work.

I would encourage anyone looking for a great place to work to explore all the different options and job opportunities that Bronson has to offer. I believe Bronson has one of the best benefit packages around, and so many wonderful people who are already employed here.

My patients are what motivate me to come to work every day. Being able to help many people remain in their homes, safely and as independently as possible, has always been one of the main reasons I love home health. I meet so many different people in all aspects of life, cultures and the job is very rewarding. Home health specifically is also a great place for working moms, as the schedule can be slightly more flexible than a maybe hospital or physician office would be.

Bronson is continually changing, adapting, and improving to meet the needs of all individuals. I feel that my opinion is valued and respected. I have an open communication relationship with my peers and supervisors. I feel specifically our supervisors in home health value our opinion as being a clinician in the field- what I see and encounter is often very different than their perspective as a leader in the office. They often turn to us for suggestions, input and this is so appreciated.

I have grown so much as a nurse since being in home health. Instead of working on a hospital floor or an office where the skill set is often limited to certain things, home health has a wide variety of skill sets that we utilize daily. We educate, assess and treat many different diagnoses and disease processes. The job is different day to day which is something I enjoy -it never gets boring or too repetitive.

If you have never worked for Bronson or if it has been some time, come back, give it a try. Many of our BAH nurses specifically have worked 10, 20, 30 years or longer in this field. There is reason so many of us love Home Health and never leave.
