She helped decrease my anxiety and made me feel confident in my care

I had to have an unexpected spine surgery due to a herniated disc. Needless to say, I was an anxious mess. The whole team was wonderful, but one nurse stood out in the care she provided. Stephanie cared for me in the PACU after surgery. She anticipated all of my needs, even before I knew about them!

My pain was well controlled and she was so attentive and caring. I have been a nurse for over 20 years, which Stephanie knew, but she made sure I was the patient today. She made sure I understood all of my care and she didn’t assume that my being a nurse meant I knew everything. She was on top of pain control, she was empathetic, and I felt extremely safe in her care. I realize this is normal practice for her, but she helped decrease my anxiety and made feel confident in my plan for care going home.

Stephanie, you are a true professional and I thank you for going above and beyond to make sure I had a safe and comfortable recovery.
