She is grace under fire

Della exhibits incredible leadership. She has been here from the beginning of the pandemic, and remains here, asking questions and advocating for patients and staff alike. She was one of my go to people when we were rolling out new processes as we were learning the impact of COVID. I could count on her to appropriately question any new process and do it with the patient at the forefront.

In one instance, I witnessed her in a room communicating with a family member whose mother was dying. Della managed this difficult situation with grace and upmost respect for the patient and family. C3 is blessed to have Della helping lead this team - she is grace under fire!

Della Davenport is a nurse on the C3/General Medical Unit (GMU) at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. She is the recipient of the 2021 Hazel Latondress Compassion Award, and was recognized during the Nursing Excellence Celebration.
