She makes everyone feel special

Lisa is a ray of sunshine at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She goes above and beyond to make sure the needs of the patients, families, and staff are met. She jumps in at a moment's notice to help with anything that is needed. She is quick to give a warm smile, even when her day is hectic. She is frequently heard asking staff "Do you need anything?" I have witnessed this countless times.

Lisa encourages staff to practice self-care, and is known to loan books, encourage exercise, and makes delicious coffee to share. She has a generous heart.

I had the privilege of talking with a former patient and his wife, that Lisa had worked with. The patient needed a followup after having had an extended stay at Bronson Methodist. He and his wife both spoke fondly of Lisa. They spoke about her humor, compassion, and the wonderful care she gave them. The wife mentioned that she always looked forward to the days Lisa worked. "She made us feel special." Lisa has a way of making everyone feel special.

Lisa Adkins is a PCA on the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She is the recipient of the 2021 Sunshine Award, which is given each year to team members who help our clinical staff provide exceptional care for patients and families.
