Nurse Externship
Nursing students who are within one year of graduation from an accredited nursing program are eligible for Bronson’s nurse externship. The program is an opportunity for nursing students to bridge the gap between the classroom and real-life nursing practice.
Within the externship program, nursing students are placed with an RN preceptor. They gain hands-on experience and immerse themselves in the nursing role. By the end of their externship, participants will have new confidence and skills to help transition into a graduate nurse role upon school graduation.
This is a paid, year-round opportunity with an expectation that externs work approximately 12hours/week.
Graduate Nurse and RN Residency
When a nursing student is less than 90 days from graduation, they can be hired into Bronson as a graduate nurse (GN). GNs work alongside an RN, perfecting their skills and gaining real-life experience in preparation for their upcoming nursing career. Upon graduation, GNs have eight weeks to complete their NCLEX certification.
Through the GN and RN residency program, new nurses receive additional support and study prep to ensure they are fully prepared for the NCLEX exam.
Once a nurse has graduated and completed NCLEX certification, they transition into the RN residency program. Under the one-year RN residency program, new nurses continue to hone their nursing skills and orient into a permanent role.
