Kyphosis

Kyphosis

Kyphosis is curvature of the spine, resulting in a rounded or humpback appearance. This condition is most common in older women and can be related to osteoporosis which is the weakening of the bones. Some types of kyphosis are also seen in babies or teens due to malformation of the spine or wedging of the spinal bones. Kyphosis can cause back pain and stiffness in addition to the forward curving appearance of the back.
