Sprain

A sprain is a stretch or tear in the tissues (ligaments) that connect the bones at a joint. Falling, twisting or getting hit can cause a sprain. The most common type of sprain is in the ankle. Symptoms of sprains include pain, swelling, bruising and limited ability to move the joint.
