Strain

Strain

A strain is a stretching or tearing of a muscle or the strong fibrous tissue (tendon) that connects a muscle to the bone. Strains most often occur in the lower back, and in the hamstring muscle in the back of your thigh. While many strains can be treated with rest, severe strains may require surgery.
