Profile

Kim chose a career in physical therapy because it allows her to connect with people every single day, especially when people must have therapy over several months. She has created wonderful relationships with people and due to that has had many people come back to her for their therapy.

Today, Kim’s job is administrative, however, seeing staff and patients interact with one another is the best part of her job. It gives her goosebumps to know that the people she works next to are making an impact on people’s lives every day.

The saying, “If you can help someone, you should, regardless of if they can return the favor” is a motto Kim’s dad taught her that she continues to live by to this day. Her dad is the biggest influence in her life; he taught her why it is important to work hard and to give your time to others.

Outside of work, Kim is the clinical director of Fun Fitness for the Special Olympics of Michigan, and she sits on several advisory boards including WMU’s Physical Therapy program and KRESA. Equitable health care and education are especially important to her.
