My Approach to Care

I view my role as a provider not just as someone that dispenses medicine or provides a treatment, but as an educator first. I prefer that my patients are intimately involved in the decision-making process, and feel it is my job to provide information and direction. Health and wellness should be tailored to the individual, not simply broad stroked in a “one-size fits all” approach.

Shawn is focused on working with his patients to get them to a state of health and wellness, not merely treating their disease. Since a very young age the human body, science, and people have fascinated him. Medicine was the perfect fit to tie all of these things together.

He points to American physician, Patch Adams, as having a big influence on him. Shawn feels his infectious positive attitude and love for his patients and fellow man have always been something he has aspired to live out in his own life. He enjoys working with the rest of the healthcare team and providing his own individual skills and passion to make a positive impact on our community.

In his spare time, Shawn enjoys ultimate frisbee, hiking, camping, board games, philosophy, and raising his children alongside his wife.
