We have one of the largest and longest-running hospital-based midwifery practices in Michigan. Since the medical practice was first established as Bronson Women’s Service in 1993, its midwifery services have become a prominent reproductive health care option for thousands of individuals. All of our certified nurse-midwives provide maternity care. This includes prenatal care, delivery and care after the baby has been born. Our midwives also do physical exams and advise on contraception and perimenopausal care. They are educated and licensed in nursing and midwifery in Michigan. And, our midwives have a special focus on promoting good health and preventing diseases.
Most insurance plans, including Medicaid, cover nurse-midwifery care. In addition, we have some doctors, midwives and staff who speak Spanish.
Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Questions
Bronson is furthering its efforts to make sure you receive equitable, exceptional healthcare that is tailored to your needs.
At your next appointment, you will have the opportunity to add your sexual orientation and gender identity information to your medical record. At this time, we are requesting this information from patients ages 18 and older only.
This data helps Bronson provide patient-centered care as well as see if there are gaps in care or services across different patient populations, including LGBTQ+ people and their families. This data is part of your medical record, so it’s protected by law and will remain confidential.

Bronson Obstetrics, Gynecology & Midwifery Specialists is located in the North Pavilion on the north campus of Bronson Methodist Hospital. Our office is on the first floor in suite N-1200A. Parking is available at no charge. Two parking areas close to our practice are: John Street lot (corner of John and Lovell streets). Enter through the Lovell Street entrance. Jasper Street ramp (enter from Jasper Street or HealthCare Plaza). Enter through the Main Entrance.
