At Bronson we know that breastfeeding can have its ups and downs, especially in the beginning. That is why the Bronson BirthPlace in Battle Creek provides support through our Breastfeeding Center.
Breastfeeding provides your new baby with the best nutrition and helps develop a close bond between mother and child. Breastfeeding can give you both a sense of warmth, closeness and pleasure. However, successful breastfeeding does not happen by instinct. That is when our team can help.
Consultation & Outpatient Services
Our consultation services are designed to provide support to breastfeeding individuals during pregnancy and after delivery. Services are provided on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Our team consists of lactation specialists working alongside registered nurses and social workers certified in breastfeeding consultation. Lactation consultations are provided in the hospital to patients at the Birthplace throughout their stay. They provide prenatal and post-partum education, advice on breastfeeding practices and personal consultation services. They also work with other healthcare providers regarding complex breastfeeding issues and concerns both prenatally and after your baby is born.
Additional outpatient support for breastfeeding individuals is provided across Calhoun County through our Baby Café locations.
