Maternal-fetal medicine is a specialty of obstetrics and gynecology. It focuses on pregnancy and the effects on both mother and baby. We discuss and treat the following complications of pregnancy:

  • Obstetrical
  • Medical
  • Genetic
  • Surgical

Our physicians are obstetricians/gynecologists who are fellowship trained in maternal-fetal medicine. Services include:

  • Consultation for mothers with high-risk pregnancies
  • Consultation for mothers at risk for obstetrical complications
  • Genetic counseling

Our maternal-fetal medicine providers are full-time and have extensive experience in maternal-fetal care. Patients are referred to Bronson Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists for the following reasons:

  • Pre-term labor, or a history of pre-term labor
  • Premature rupture of membranes
  • Pregnancy-induced hypertension (preeclampsia)
  • Insulin-dependent or gestational diabetes
  • Medical complications such as lupus, chronic hypertension or renal disease
  • Blood group incompatibility
  • Bleeding problems
  • Multiple pregnancies
  • Fetal health assessment
  • Congenital abnormalities
  • Pre-conception counseling because of poor obstetrical history, previous pregnancy loss or chronic medical conditions
