Bronson Hospitals Receive Gold Designation for Quality Improvement in Maternal Health

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Bronson Battle Creek and Bronson Methodist Hospitals have achieved the Michigan Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (MI AIM) Gold Quality Improvement Designation. This is a distinguished honor recognizing both hospitals for continuously improving care for mothers and babies. A total of 26 hospitals earned gold status.

“The Bronson BirthPlace – with locations in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo – has long been recognized as a leader in the care of pregnant patients and their infants,” said Carol Fuller, Director of Bronson Women & Children’s Services. “This recognition for quality reflects the dedication and effort of our entire organization to provide the highest level of care to all of our patients.”

MI AIM collaborates with birthing hospitals to reduce deaths and serious health issues among patients by implementing special safety practices. These practices target key concerns such as reducing unnecessary C-sections, managing severe bleeding, controlling high blood pressure and preventing infections during pregnancy. In addition, it collaborates with hospitals to provide clear guidelines, necessary tools, staff training and practice drills to effectively prevent and handle serious maternal health complications.
