Bronson Battle Creek Named One of the Nation’s Best Maternity Care Hospitals
Battle Creek, Mich. - The Leapfrog Group in collaboration with Money recently released their 2022 list of the Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. Bronson Battle Creek was among just 259 hospitals to be recognized.
To compile the list of top hospitals, the Leapfrog Group used maternity care data submitted in the 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. More than 2,200 U.S. hospitals completed the survey.
Hospitals that rose to the top fully met The Leapfrog Group’s evidence-based, nationally standardized metrics. These include lower rates of early elective delivery, C-section, and episiotomy, as well as compliance with process measures including newborn bilirubin screening prior to discharge and blood clot prevention techniques for mothers delivering via C-section. In addition, the Best Maternity Care Hospitals had to show an overall commitment to safety with an A or B score on the spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
Bronson Battle Creek is the most preferred hospital in Calhoun County for maternity care and welcomes more than 800 newborns each year.
