Bronson Commons Celebrates 10th Anniversary
KALAMAZOO, Mich. − Bronson Commons, a post-acute care facility specializing in rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, hosted an open house this week for patients and residents and their families, along with employees, donors and community partners.
Since opening in Mattawan a decade ago, Bronson Commons has been known for its high-quality care. This year, it was named a “Best Nursing Home” by U.S. News & World Report for the 10th year in a row and received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), also a repeat recognition.
The multidisciplinary team at Bronson Commons provide a full range of customized medical, nursing, rehabilitation and social support care, whether for an active senior adjusting to a knee or hip replacement, a grandmother recovering from a stroke or a young adult receiving physical therapy after an auto accident.
The goal for most patients is to return home as soon as possible. Some patients only require short-term help with their recovery; others may need ongoing care in which case Bronson Commons becomes their home away from home.
Services provided include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, wound care, chronic disease management, dementia care, behavioral health, hearing, podiatry, dental and optical services.
With 100 all-private rooms, many of the home-like amenities and conveniences patients experience at Bronson Commons are provided through generous philanthropic support from individuals and area businesses.
“Bronson Commons is a special place where patients can continue care and recovery after leaving the hospital,” says Terry Morrow, President of Bronson Health Foundation. “We truly appreciate the giving spirit of our donors who are helping our staff provide exceptional care in a warm, healing environment.”
