Bronson Commons Recognized With 2024 AHCA/NCAL Silver National Quality Award
One of only eight post-acute care centers in Michigan and 139 nationally
KALAMAZOO, MICH. – Bronson Commons, a 100-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Mattawan, Michigan, has been recognized as a 2024 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award recipient by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is the second highest distinction possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long term care.

The National Quality Award Program has three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. As a 2024 Silver recipient, Bronson Commons can now move on to the final most prestigious level of the program, the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award.
Cheryl Knapp, senior vice president and chief quality officer for Bronson Healthcare, expressed pride in the leadership and teams at Bronson Commons for their high standard of care, highlighting it as a testament to the organization's dedication to improving community health through comprehensive care initiatives that extend beyond hospital services.
In addition to this recognition from AHCA/NCAL, Bronson Commons is certified by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and holds a 5-star overall quality rating. It has also been named to the Best Nursing Homes list by U.S. News and World Report since 2013.
