Bronson Healthcare Executive Receives MHA Meritorious Service Award

The Michigan Health and Hospital Association Board of Trustees has bestowed its highest achievement award upon James B. (“Chip”) Falahee, Jr., senior vice president, Legal & Legislative Affairs for the Bronson Healthcare system.  Falahee received the 2021 MHA Meritorious Service Award in recognition of his many years of outstanding service as a healthcare champion.

Falahee has more than 40 years of experience in healthcare law and legislation, most of them at Bronson Healthcare, where he hasJames "Chip" Falahee provided his expertise since 1987. He is a longstanding supporter of the association having served as a member of the MHA Board of Trustees since 2014, as a past chair of the MHA Legislative Policy Panel and as a founding member of the MHA Hospital Affiliated Legislative Officers group.

On behalf of Michigan hospitals, Falahee has testified before legislative committees to educate lawmakers on important healthcare policy. He has also served as one of two hospital representatives on the Michigan Certificate of Need Commission for 12 years, eight of them as chair. He is a board member of 340B Health, a national organization comprised of hospitals and health systems that participate in the 340B drug discount program. He is also a founding member, past president and a Fellow of the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and past president of the Michigan Society of Hospital Attorneys.
