Bronson Healthcare Ranked in Nation’s 15 Top Health Systems
PINC AI™ and Fortune have announced the 15 Top Health Systems in the nation for 2023 and Bronson Healthcare has achieved a spot in this elite group. The PINC AI 15 Top Health System list is based on a study that provides an objective measure of health system performance overall and offers insight into the ability of each health system’s member hospitals to deliver consistent top performance across the communities they serve.
Now in its 15th year, the study relies on publicly available data to evaluate clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and patient experience at 361 U.S. health systems. It identifies the nation’s best performers and provides a benchmark for others. Health systems do not apply nor can they opt in or out of the 15 Top Health Systems study. The data analyzed is from 2017-2022 with five systems recognized in each of three size categories - large, medium and small. Bronson Healthcare with hospitals and medical practices in Calhoun, Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties, is in the medium-sized category.
“This is an amazing honor that reflects our staff’s dedicated efforts to deliver exceptional care experiences to patients and families throughout our health system,” says Bronson President and CEO Bill Manns. “It verifies that our overall performance exceeds that of our peers when compared to other health systems nationally. For patients in our region, it means no matter what Bronson site you go to, you can expect consistent top quality care.”
According to PINC AI’s analysis, if all health systems operated at the level of this year’s winners, more than 200,000 lives could have been saved and 177,000 additional patients could have been complication free. In fact, inpatient mortality and healthcare-acquired infections for the top systems were 21% lower compared to the non-winning peer group and hospital stays were a half day shorter.
In addition to its new 15 Top Health System ranking, Bronson Healthcare has achieved a number of other system honors this year. It was ranked by Forbes as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers (2022-23), by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women (2023) and by the National Association for Business Resources as one of the 2023 Top 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
