Bronson Methodist Hospital Only Organization in Michigan to Achieve Gold Level Safe Sitter® Provider Status
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Bronson Methodist Hospital earned the 2023 Gold Level Safe Sitter® Provider award for preparing over 125 young teens to care for younger children and handle major and minor medical emergencies. Bronson Healthcare has taught the Safe Sitter class at Bronson Methodist Hospital for 23 years.
The medically oriented program prepares students in grades six to eight or ages 11 to 14 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. In the two-day training class, participants learn the importance of their role as a babysitter, teaching them important safety and childcare skills, along with first aid and life-saving skills such as CPR and how to rescue someone who is choking.
Bronson offers the Safe Sitter class in Kalamazoo multiple times each year. To register your child for an upcoming Safe Sitter class, visit https://bronsonhealth.us/safe-sitter-classes-summer2024.
