Bronson Methodist Hospital Named One of the Nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Fortune and PINC AI

For a third consecutive year, Bronson Methodist Hospital has been named to the list of the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals™ according to an independent quality analysis provided by PINC AI™ and reported by Fortune. The honor recognizes Bronson for delivering significantly better cardiovascular care than most other hospitals in the United States.

The 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals program focuses on short-term, acute care, non-federal U.S. hospitals that treat a broad spectrum of cardiology patients. It includes patients requiring medical management, as well as those who receive invasive or surgical procedures.

“We are very proud of our physicians, advanced practice professionals and patient care teams for achieving and sustaining such a high level of quality,” says Bronson Healthcare President and CEO Bill Manns. “Patients with heart disease are not only cared for by Bronson cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, but by specialists in hospital medicine, anesthesiology, critical care and emergency medicine, our nurses and a host of other caregivers. Bronson’s extensive primary care group helps patients with prevention, managing risk factors and ongoing care if they are living with heart disease. Thanks to the skill and commitment of everyone on our team, Bronson continues to be the top choice for heart care in our region.”

To select top performers, the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals program conducts quantitative research analysis using publicly available data. Hospitals are then ranked for performance across four measurement groupings:

  • Heart Attack (acute myocardial infarction)
  • Heart Surgery (coronary artery bypass graft)
  • Cardiac Catheterization (percutaneous coronary intervention)
  • Heart Failure

This year, the winners were found to deliver better outcomes while operating more efficiently and at a lower cost. “Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for all Americans, resulting in nearly 700,000 deaths and $229 billion in added costs each year,” said Leigh Anderson, Premier’s President of Performance Services and the leader of PINC AI™. “Given the life and death nature of this condition, patients and their loved ones need credible information to help them determine where to go for the best possible care. This objective, data-driven study proves that Bronson Methodist Hospital excels across a range of core performance indicators, which directly leads to significantly higher survival rates associated with cardiac care, with fewer readmissions and complications.”
