Enhancing the Patient Experience at Bronson LakeView Hospital

A renovation project to modernize and convert eleven patient rooms from semi-private to private was recently completed at Bronson LakeView Hospital. The project is the culmination of a two-year process to provide adult patients being treated for medical conditions and those recovering from surgery with more privacy and comfort during their hospital stay.

The redesigned rooms feature new finishes, fixtures and private, spacious bathrooms with walk-in showers. The project also includes a new nurses’ station, medication room, providers’ workspace and family waiting room.

“Bronson LakeView providers and staff have consistently focused on delivering exceptional care despite the challenges of working in rooms built in the 1960s,” says Matthew Dommer, MD, Bronson LakeView’s chief operating officer. “These physical upgrades will help them take the overall patient experience to the next level and enhance our ongoing efforts to provide the safe, high quality care Bronson is known for across the region.”

The rooms, a combination of warm wood tones and soothing neutrals, provide a calm, relaxing environment for both patient and family. The colors were chosen to accentuate the natural setting and lakeside location of the hospital. Architectural design was provided by Diekema Hamman. CSM Group managed construction of the project. Both firms are based in southwest Michigan.
