Kimberly Hatchel Appointed System SVP and BMH COO

Photo of Kim Hatchel.After a nationwide search, Kimberly K. Hatchel, DNP, MHA, MSN, RN, CENP, has been appointed senior vice president (SVP) with the Bronson Healthcare system and chief operating officer (COO) for Bronson Methodist Hospital.

Kim has been serving as BMH’s interim COO since June 2022 with a keen focus on improving throughput in our inpatient, ED and surgical areas. In her permanent SVP/COO role, she will oversee all operations at BMH and lead system-wide services for Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation, Pharmacy, Lab, Radiology and Security. Her direct reports include: Marla Atkinson, Troy Shirley, Lois VanEnk, Kimberly Hubbard, Ricardo Avila, Anne Wendling, Ben Clark, Stephen Daugherty, Marla Welch, Anja Holmes, Lisa Padgett, Tish Eaton-Mall, Krista Hampton and Deb Rozewicz. We are very fortunate to have such an experienced executive join Team Bronson. Kim brings a wide range of experience to the COO role, having served in healthcare clinical and administrative leadership for over 20 years. Prior to coming to Bronson, she was Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Hospital Corporation of America – Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL. Other career highlights include Senior Vice President/CNO roles with CHI Saint Joseph Health in Lexington, KY; Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital, Las Vegas, NV; and Medical Center of McKinney, McKinney, TX.

She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN; a Master of Health Care Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ; and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, TN.

A lifelong learner and educator, Kim is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Arlington - College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Arlington, TX, and past adjunct faculty at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Nashville, TN.
