Sexual Assault Services receives $2,500 grant from the Marshall Community Foundation
Sexual Assault Services (SAS) recently received a $2,500 grant from the Marshall Community Foundation in support of its sexual assault prevention program.
“We are honored to be selected as a recipient of Marshall Community Foundation’s grant to further expand our sexual assault prevention program in the Marshall area,” says Laurie Hartman, community educator at SAS. “The grant has provided funds for child sexual abuse prevention curriculum through the Stewards of Children® program as well as activity books.”
Stewards of Children is a program that teaches adults how to recognize, respond to and prevent child abuse. Through the grant, Hartman has completed training to become a certified facilitator, allowing her to teach the curriculum to local organizations who serve youth.
If your school or organization is interested in free on-site child abuse prevention training, please contact Laurie Hartman at (269) 245-3837.
