Burn and Wound
For most people, wound healing is a natural process. For others, it can be a complex medical problem that requires specialized treatment and care. If your wound is having trouble healing or you have suffered a severe burn, we can help.
Burn and Wound Conditions We Treat
There are many different medical conditions that can occur as the result of a serious burn or chronic wound. Commonly treated conditions include:
Comprehensive Wound Care
We understand that every wound and body is different. That’s why we take an individualized approach to your treatment. During your first appointment, our team will:
- Examine your wound site
- Assess any health factors that may be affecting the healing process
- Provide you with detailed instructions, including a personal plan, for ongoing follow-up and support services
After your appointment, we will talk with your primary care doctors and/or other specialists to coordinate a care plan based on your specific needs.
Advanced Burn Care
Usually, burns are minor and can heal on their own. In other cases, burns can be severe and life threatening. Whether you have a burn that’s minor or needs immediate medical attention, you can expect advanced burn care from the region’s only Burn Center.
Bronson Methodist Hospital is the only hospital in southwest Michigan that provides complete burn treatment for children and adults. This means that we care for you from the time you are admitted to the hospital, all the way through rehabilitation.
Your Specialized Care Team
Your care will be provided by a team of specially-trained physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists. Our clinicians are taught by nationally-recognized wound care experts.
We also have a dedicated nurse who provides specialized wound care during your hospital stay. Upon discharge, she helps coordinate your follow-up treatments when you are out of the hospital.
