High Risk Breast Clinic
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer - and individuals with certain genetic mutations, a family history of cancer and/or a personal history of breast issues are at an increased risk for developing the disease. In fact, 20% of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer were at a high risk for developing the disease.
If any of the following conditions are true, you may be at an elevated risk for developing breast cancer:
- You have been diagnosed with certain breast conditions, including lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS), atypical lobular hyperplasia (ALH) and/or atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH)
- You or close family member has the BRCA1/BRCA2 gene or another genetic mutation related to breast cancer
- A close family member has been diagnosed with male breast cancer
