Life Support Classes & Training

Whether at work or play, you may one day be in a position to provide life-saving assistance to someone. Bronson’s life support training classes are designed with you in mind. Classes emphasize hands-on learning and meet the State of Michigan’s First Aid and CPR requirements for teachers and daycare providers. Continuing education units are available when applicable.

Whether you are a healthcare professional, educator or a member of the community, we offer a variety of life support classes to meet your specific needs and requirements.

Basic Life Support Courses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course
  Designed to provide healthcare professionals with the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED (automated defibrillator) and relieve a choking victim. This course is designed for professionals who will be taking BLS for the first time, or have let their past American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification expire.
  Course length: 4 hours
  Course cost: $55

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Renewal Course
  Similar to the BLS provider course, but designed for professionals who currently hold a current AHA BLS certification.
  Course length: 3 hours
  Course cost: $55

CPR, AED & First Aid Courses

• Heartsaver CPR/AED Course
  A course designed for community members. Learn how to perform CPR, use an AED and relieve a choking victim. This course teaches skills with the AHA research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique. Classroom instruction includes video-based and instructor-led instruction.
  Course length: 3.5 hours
  Course cost: $50*

• Heartsaver First Aid Course
  A course designed for community members. Learn the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency situation until trained emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. Students learn skills including: how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. Classroom instruction includes video-based and instructor-led lessons.
  Course length: 3 hours
  Course cost: $50*

*If a student chooses to participate in both the Heartsaver CPR/AED and Heartsaver First Aid courses, the cost is $90.
